Good Samaritan Ministires

The David Crockett FFA chapter has sparked a relationship with Good Samaritan Ministries. We are hoping to grow closer to them as we continue to discover all of the volunteer opportunities they have for us. Good Samaritan Ministries is a non-profit ministry that functions solely by volunteers and donations and they are always looking for more people to help. They have a second-hand store and any profit that is made from selling the donated items goes straight back into the ministry. They also have a food pantry that is always in need of items. Depending on the needs of certain families, they can come to Good Sam and get a large box of food once every month. In the summer they have programs to insure that children continue to have food regardless of being in or out of school. Good Samaritan Ministries offers showers, toiletries, and snack packs to the needy. It is their goal to prevent homelessness so they do everything in their power to help people to find jobs and to keep them on their feet. We are thrilled to be congenial with Good Sam! This past visit our chapter worked in their store and helped unpack food for their pantry. In the store did everything from sorting clothes sizes and polishing glasses to organizing the toy section--which always seems to need tidying! Also, four of our boys went into the back and helped unload food from trucks and put them in their food pantry. We fully intend to keep a close-knit relationship with Good Sam and are excited to get back out to help them!
